SPORTS WE SERVE

If you are an elite athlete looking to improve your balance, explosion, agility, speed, and toughness, BEAST Performance is the place for your training.  We focus on starting at the core and then working our way out to make sure that your entire body is being strengthened and learns to work together.


FOOTBALL

Our football training focuses on explosive movements, lateral quickness, and hip flexibility. Our football workout will integrate overarching principles along with position specific drills designed to improve player performance.

BASEBALL

Baseball demands speed and power regardless of position. We train to improve the interconnectedness of core and fast twitch muscle fibers to produce a stronger and more efficient athlete on the playing field.

SOCCER

Soccer players need endurance and the ability to incorporate short bursts of speed. We use sport specific drills to develop these aspects and improve the player’s ability to effectively transition from one discipline to the other.

BASKETBALL

We’ve designed our training to improve an athlete’s fast twitch muscles, lateral movement, and vertical explosiveness. Basketball players must be able to react quickly with explosive movements, both laterally and vertically.

VOLLEYBALL

Our volleyball training is designed to focus on explosive jump training and improving lateral speed. Our workouts are geared to simulate game movements while applying resistance and forcing muscle groups to work against force.

TRACK & FIELD

Power, explosiveness, and speed are just a few of the essential skills for track & field success. BEAST tailors track & field training to help athletes realize improvement in their main events.

ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT

Athletic development is the foundation of BEAST Performance and this course provides cross-functional training to improve balance, endurance, agility, speed and technique (BEAST). Skills developed in this course apply to all sports, and classes include the use of VertiMax, speed treadmills, Vertec, plyometric boxes and other equipment designed to enhance athletic performance.

STRENGTH TRAINING

BEAST Performance strength training classes are designed to help athletes increase strength and power. Participants learn proper weight lifting techniques, and programming is customized for athletes based on age, experience, season and sport. Class sizes are small in order to ensure individual attention and personalized programming.

HOW WE DO IT

Improving technique in athletes is critical to achieve exponential gains in speed, strength, and explosiveness. At BEAST Performance, we work to break down and focus on individual movements to help athletes realize their potential and prepare for competition. Proper technique leads to increased performance and strength.

VertiMax Training

The VertiMax allows us to provide resistance jump training while improving form and explosiveness, which contributes to increases in speed, jumping ability and overall athleticism.

Core Strength

The core provides a pillar for the upper and lower half of the body to operate upon. We focus on unique exercises that activate core muscles and strengthen this integral part of the athlete.

Plyometric Exercises

These allow the athlete to focus on short bursts and quick lateral movement. Breaking down explosive movements allows us to coach athletes on proper form and technique.

Explosive Speed Dynamics

Technique is critical in being able to convert movement into explosive speed. We focus on each aspect of an running form and work to connect these elements resulting in peak speed improvement.

ABOUT BEAST

BEAST Performance was founded in 2011 to help young athletes reach their potential and peak performance on the field of play. We utilize sport specific training, combined with core development and explosive movement training to develop athletic performance.

Jason Werner and Pat Kuntz, the original founders of BEAST Performance, are Division I athletes who coupled their experience at the highest level of collegiate athletics with the training programs and advice of some of the top minds in the industry to deliver the most comprehensive training program in central Indiana. Kuntz is now a member of the football coaching staff at Indiana University, and Werner continues as our Chief BEAST.

In early 2017, BEAST Performance expanded into a 9500 square foot facility with 5500 square feet of turf and space for aerobic, strength and weight training and the capacity to offer a variety of individual and group classes. BEAST Performance continues to help elite athletes looking for a performance edge, and BEAST Fitness has been launched to work with individuals of all ages and athletic abilities who are interested in getting and staying fit

Jason Werner Owner, Chief BEAST
Indiana’s Mr. Football in 2004, Jason attended Purdue University on a football scholarship and was a two-time team captain and 3 year starter. While in high school at Roncalli, Jason collected numerous individual accolades in football, basketball, and track & field, while also helping his teams win 3 state football titles, a regional title in basketball, and multiple top 10 finishes at the Indiana State Track Championships. Jason looks to utilize his well-rounded athletic background and training in a setting to propel young athletes to the next level.

OUR TRAINERS

Keith attended Franklin Central High School and competed in football and track, and his passion for sports took him to Indiana University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. Keith is an NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist, and is driven to help athletes enhance their skills, achieve their performance goals and excel in competition. Keith’s strengths have been honed by years of experience and study, and include overall strength and power development, programming, and educating athletes on safe, effective, and productive workout regimens. In addition to training other athletes, Keith practices what he preaches and is a nationally qualified competitor in the sport of Strongman. Keith teaches strength training, vertical jump training, athletic development and basketball at Beast.

Ashley is a graduate of Roncalli high school where she played four years of varsity volleyball, basketball and softball and was named 2005-2006 athlete of the year. She was also a member of the 2006 Junior Olympic national championship volleyball team at Team Indiana. Ashley went on to play volleyball on a full-ride scholarship at Division I Middle Tennessee State University, where she was a four-year starter and was named SunBelt Conference Defensive Player of the Week six times. During her college career, Ashley led her team to three SunBelt Conference Championship, made four NCAA tournament appearances and advanced to the Sweet 16 in 2007. Ashley was an active duty medic in the United States Army, and is now a member of the Indiana National Guard. She is USAW and EMT certified. Ashley teaches athletic development, volleyball, vertical jump training and other courses to elite athletes at Indy BEAST Performance.

BEAST Performance is excited to introduce Morgan Morrison. Morgan is a graduate from Hanover College with a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Movement studies. In his time at Hanover, Morgan played 4 years of varsity football as a linebacker. In his high school days, Morgan attended Indian Creek High School where he played varsity football and baseball. Morgan’s knowledge and athletic background made him a perfect fit for BP, but along with this came his experience last summer with an internship at Bommarito Performance Systems in Miami, Florida. He was able to learn from one of the top performance coaches in the nation, Pete Bommarito, as he became a certified level one Bommarito performance coach during his time down south. Time spend with Pete and his facility were paired with having the opportunity to work with some of the top NFL athletes giving Morgan his first taste of training athletes at the highest level. Some of these atheteles include Leveon Bell, Lawrence Timmons, Brandon Marshal, Mike Mitchell, Jordan Howard, John Miller, and Marcus Gilbert. Morgan enjoys focusing on the development of athletes in the areas of speed, strength, and vertical power, linear and lateral movements

Training

BEAST Performance offers a number of different individualized plan to suit every athlete and their specific sport needs.

We understand that while there are common movements among most sports, there are also specialized movements and needs for each sport. We work to focus in on these sport specific skills by offering unique programs for each sport.

This allows the athlete to strengthen and refine these movements in a controlled environment. We also utilize therabands and resistance bands to provide resistance while work on more linear speed movements.

This state-of-the-art self-propelled treadmill allows our athletes to work on speed development while teaching proper mechanics. The Force Treadmill allows us to improve the athlete’s running form by naturally getting the body to learn and experience foot interaction with the ground, while providing instantaneous feedback.
